TurkishBank UK operates as a subsidiary of TürkBankası, which was originally established in Northern Cyprus in 1901.
In 1974, TurkishBank Ltd (TBL) opened its first branch in Harringay. In 1990, the bank acquired a building on Borough High Street and relocated its head office there. In 1991, the bank was granted permission to be incorporated as a company in the United Kingdom and began operating under the name TurkishBank UK (TBUK) as of 1992.
TurkishBank UK is authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by both the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority.
